Using Vital Thread
Vital Thread is operated by Tomas Jonsson. By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using Vital Thread, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility and accounts
Keep your access personal and secure
You must be legally able to agree to these terms and meet any minimum age required for the service in your country. Access may require a valid invitation and an account with a supported identity provider.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- Keep your sign-in method, devices, sessions, and connected accounts secure.
- Do not share access or allow another person to use your identity.
- Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
The service
Personal health overview and intake tracking
Vital Thread lets you import health and fitness information you authorize, maintain meals and nutrition records, add goals and personal context, and review summaries and trends. Some features depend on your device, permissions, location, account state, or third-party services. Features may change as the service develops.

Context, not diagnosis
It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency monitoring, or a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Summaries, calculations, nutrition estimates, assistant responses, and reminders may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be used as the sole basis for a health decision.
Seek professional advice for medical questions. If you believe you have an emergency, contact local emergency services rather than relying on Vital Thread or a connected assistant.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you add
You retain your rights in health information, meals, photos, notes, goals, and other content you provide. You give Vital Thread permission to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the features you choose. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for limited information retained as described in the privacy policy or required by law.
You are responsible for the content you provide and must have the right to provide it. Do not add another person's sensitive information without their authorization.
Connected services
You choose when another service connects
Vital Thread may work with Apple, Stytch, Cloudflare, ChatGPT, and other compatible services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern their products. When you connect an assistant or MCP client, it may read or update only the categories permitted by the scopes you approve. Review requests carefully before authorizing them.
You can revoke a connection through the relevant provider. Revocation stops future access but does not remove information already received by that provider.
Acceptable use
Protect the service and its users
You must not:
- Access or attempt to access another person's account or information.
- Bypass invitations, authentication, permissions, rate limits, or security controls.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or introduce malicious code into the service.
- Use Vital Thread unlawfully or to violate another person's rights.
- Use automated access except through supported clients and documented interfaces.
- Misrepresent Vital Thread output as professional medical advice.
Availability
The service may change or pause
Vital Thread is provided without a guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Maintenance, provider outages, device restrictions, legal requirements, and product changes may affect availability. Where practical, reasonable care will be taken to preserve your data and communicate material changes.
Termination and deletion
You can leave; harmful access can be suspended
You may stop using Vital Thread at any time and can permanently delete your account and stored content from the iPhone app. Deletion and limited retention are described in the privacy policy.
Access may be suspended or ended when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, address a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or discontinue the service. Where appropriate, notice and an opportunity to export or delete your information will be provided.
Disclaimers and liability
Reasonable limits
To the extent permitted by law, Vital Thread is provided as available, without implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or accuracy. Vital Thread is not responsible for decisions made from incomplete or inaccurate data, or for failures caused by devices, networks, identity providers, health-data sources, assistants, or other third-party services outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer or data-protection law.
Changes
When these terms change
These terms may be updated to reflect service, legal, or security changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated before they take effect when required, and continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Email tomas@jonsson.io with questions or concerns. Do not include health readings, meal photos, account archives, access tokens, passwords, or other sensitive information in email. These terms do not prevent you from using any mandatory complaint, regulatory, or court process available under applicable law.
